What do you call a team when they are not really amateurs but not really professionals? Well semi professional of course. Below are the teams that have fallen into this classification, some rightfully, some perhaps not.
Quebec Senior Hockey League (1944-1953)
The Quebec Senior Hockey League (1942-1952). The QSHL competed as a semi - pro (amateur) league. This was termed an amateur league, in which the "amateurs" were sometimes highly paid. The league was renamed after the 1952 season to the Quebec Hockey League. The leagues foundings were with the Ottawa City Hockey League (1942-44).
